What's new in V2

When it comes to the EinScan-SE V2 3D scanner, there are some handy upgrades compared to its predecessor. Let's take a look at these points.

Scanning speed

The major change for the EinScan-SE V2 is the scanning speed. The table below shows how impressive it is when scanning a clay statue with the dimensions about 40 x 40 x 70 mm, especially in contrast with the first model:

Power button

The power button of the EinScan-SE V2 has been changed from the touchscreen button to a physical one for more convenient use.

USB port

The original USB 2.0 port has also been upgraded to 3.0.

User experience

Most notably, the EinScan-SE V2 provides exceptional data quality alongside overall improved characteristics.

Scan accuracy

by on

The EinScan-SE is a fast professional desktop 3D scanner with a single shot accuracy of 0.1 mm. It can detect a variety of colors and textures delivering accurate geometries and high quality scans. Additionally, the SE model is equipped with a standard tripod thread that gives you the possibility to mount it to an optional tripod for steadier automatic scans of fixed objects or faces.

Scan volume

Shining 3D EinScan-SE 3D Scanner

The EinScan-SE desktop 3D scanner operates according to the mode selected. The automatic scan setting lets you capture objects up to 200 x 200 x 200 mm, while the fixed scan mode can reach up to 700 x 700 x 700 mm.

Scanning tips

Overall tips for the SE model:

  • Apply a matte spray to easily scan dark, shiny, and transparent objects
  • Scan with a dark background
  • Use correct scanner settings
  • Fine-tune your scanner
  • Create a controlled environment
  • Avoid scanning moving objects

The Auto Scan Mode (feature, manual, turntable alignment) is designed for:

  • Objects larger than 30*30*30 mm (1.2*1.2*1.2 in)
  • Objects smaller than 200*200*200 mm (7.9*7.9*7.9 in)
  • Object weighing less than 5 kg (11 lbs)

The Fixed Scan Mode (feature, manual alignment) is designed for:

  • Scanning large and heavy objects that aren’t suitable for the turntable

Scanner controls

The EinScan-SE is a new lightweight desktop 3D scanner that operates through a plugged computer. The device is integrated with an intuitive UI for fast and easy scanning sessions.

Software

The SE model comes with an incredibly powerful proprietary software solution that offers a plethora of post-processing features. For instance, the new EXScan S software can readjust data coordinates, auto fill holes, smoothen or sharpen a model, and much more. Additionally, you can one-click upload your 3D scans to various cloud-based solutions to share them with anyone. The resulting files can be used for 3D printing: perform automatic meshing to the scan, turn it into watertight 3D data, fix the scan using post-processing tools, and the file should be ready to go.
